 Why are you changing systems? 

​   • Our Laundry Card system was the first generation of is kind and is in need of replacement. The new Laundry Card system is the same company as the old system, just upgraded 20 years! It will function like the old system, but you will see new card readers. In addition, you will be able to tap-to-pay with a credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay etc. at the X-Changer pay station. More options for you. I want you to have a great laundry experience.

 

What is a Card Store?

• At Kenwood Laundromat, you can leave your quarters and tokens at home. Our ATM style payment center is a user friendly kiosk that allows you obtain and add value to your laundry card.  Payment can be made with cash or Visa/Master Card. Each time you use a machine, your available balance is shown in the card reader window. 

 

How do I use the payment kiosk?

• Touch the touchscreen on the payment kiosk. Follow the prompts on the screen and select the cash or credit card payment option. When payment is made, you will see your available balance.  Inserting your card in the kiosk will allow you to register your card, check your balance and view past transactions and laundromat activity.

 

Why register my laundry card?

• In the event you lose your registered laundry card, you can contact us and we will send you a new card with your account value pre loaded on it

How do I use the washers and dryers?​

• ​Select a machine for use. Swipe your laundry card in the payment slot. Select the wash or dry cycle desired.  The time remaining in the cycle will be shown on the display.  Our washers and dryers do not take quarters or tokens.

 

What if a machine doesn't work and I need a refund?

• Refunds are easy. Though we are diligent in our maintenance program, from time-to-time a machine will stop working and you will need to switch machines and contact us about a refund.  First, take note of the machine number, then call or text (218) 310-0887 to leave a message.  Leave your name, machine number, your card number, your phone number and email address and a refund will likely be credited to your card later in the day.  Or if you wish, you can send an email to laundryhelp@yahoo.com and leave the same information or even fill out a refund slip and leave it in the comments slot in the front of the store.

 

Where is my card number? 

• Your Kenwood Laundry card is located on the back side of the card and begins with a 1700000 and 5 more digits.  Use the last 5 digits when including your card number in reference or text a picture of the back of the card.

Why only 1/4 cup per load?

• First off, 1/4 cup is enough detergent to break down the surface tension of the water, allowing it to better penetrate fabrics.  Second, more detergent can cause skin irritation. Third, too much soap is not good for the machines.  Lastly, too much soap is not good for the environment.  Our washers work extra hard so your detergent does not have to.  Try it and see!

How long does it take to dry a load of clothes?

• Our washers spin at high speeds shaving 10-15 minutes off a common residential dryer. For a #20 load, or roughly 1 rectangle laundry basket, it takes approximately 40-50 minutes depending on the fabrics.  Heaver fabrics like cotton, take longer to dry than lighter fabrics like polyester and rayon.  Our dryers are programmed at 10 minute intervals so if you check the dryer after a cycle and need more time, you can just add 10 more minutes without having to start another 30 minute cycle, saving you more money.
